Summer Beauty Essentials

It is finally July! This week is supposed to be a hot one in Edmonton… I feel like summer is finally here, and I could not be more excited. In the summer, I adjust my daytime beauty routine to simplify and lighten. Days by the lake, fun festivals, and outdoor barbecues call for an easy beauty routine that lets me enjoy the heat without all of the hassle.

Everyday, I wear a BB cream with SPF. This provides the coverage I need and protects me from the UV rays! Because I want to get ready for the day quickly, I stick to brows, lashes, and glow. For the brows, I use the Stila waterproof brow pen. I fill in my brows, keep them looking natural, and they won’t rub off due to sweat or water. I do two coats of Stila Huge mascara, bronze my cheeks with Stila waterproof bronzer in Light, and finish with Stila highlighter in Kitten.

After being outside all day, I have had my fair share of sun and heat. To cool off, I use Korres After Sun on my body and face. It is made with greek yogurt, which is packed with nutrients and protein to nourish the skin. It wicks away excess heat, and leaves a cool, tingling sensation. When I was in Costa Rica, I brought this along and stuck it in my mini fridge. After laying on the beach all day, I would come back to my room and put the cold gel on my body. It felt amazing. It cooled me off and kept my skin moisturized.

Another summer beauty essential is my St. Tropez tanner. A new addition I have added to my basic tan is the St. Tropez Finishing Body Gloss. I put this on my arms and legs before going out to add that extra oomph to my tan. It gives a glossy, wet, J-Lo type of look. It also has a really pretty shimmer that complements every summer outfit.

These are definitely my top picks for summer. I am heading to the Calgary Stampede this weekend, and will definitely be using these products in the 35 degree weather. What are your favourite summer products? Comment below!
